iabetes technology is advancing at a rapid pace. Each
conference presents a new insulin pen, meter or CGM.
How can a healthcare professional learn about the latest
trends? The American Association of Diabetes Educators
createdaplatformtoassisthealthcareproviderswork through
the difficult task of keeping up with technology. They created
a technology institute that contains product information,
education and resources for the rapidly changing landscape.
A “one-stop” shop for all thing’s diabetes technology, it is
called: DANA-Diabetes Advanced Network Access and was
released in the US in August 2018. DANA is a resource to
enable professionals working in partnership with persons
with diabetes to have access to best in class information
about diabetes technology. The goal is to empower
collaborative decision making in the care and management
of people with diabetes, leading to positive health outcomes.
