Tuberculoma
Tuberculosis encompasses an very wide disease spectrum concerning multiple organs and body systems primarily initiated by the organism Mycobacterium tuberculosis. A small quantity can also be caused Mycobacterium bovis. Mycobacterium tuberculosis infection and are one of the more serious morphological forms of tuberculosis. Tuberculomas most generally occur in the brain (see: CNS tuberculosis) and the lung (see: pulmonary tuberculosis). Histologically it contains of a central core of caseating necrosis with a adjoining wall of a florid granulomatous reaction comprising Langhans giant cells, epithelioid histiocytes and lymphocytes. Different tuberculous abscesses, organisms are unusual or absent, and severe inflammatory infiltrate is not a important feature.
