Neurodegenerative Diseases
Neurons are the building blocks of the nervous system which contains the brain and spinal cord. Neurons usually don’t duplicate or replace themselves, so when they develop damaged or die, they cannot be substituted by the body. Examples of neurodegenerative illnesses comprise Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s, and Huntington’s disease. Neurodegenerative illnesses are incurable and incapacitating conditions that result in open-minded degeneration and / or death of nerve cells. This causes problems with drive (called ataxias), or mental operative (called dementias). Dementias are accountable for the greatest weight of neurodegenerative diseases, with Alzheimer’s representing around 60-70% of dementia cases.
