Epilepsy In Children
Epilepsy is that the commonest childhood brain disorder within the US – nearly 3 million Americans have this condition (450,000 of which are under age 17). About two-thirds of all children with epilepsy outgrow their seizures by the time they're teenagers. However, it's important for parents to assist their child maintain a healthy lifestyle and ensure regular medical visits. Epilepsy may be an encephalopathy where an individual has recurring seizures. The seizures are triggered by changes within the electrical and chemical activity within the brain. Seizures are often caused by anything that injures the brain, including head injuries, infections, poisoning or maybe brain development problems before birth. Often a cause for the seizures and epilepsy can't be found. There are many various kinds of seizures. Some are very short, lasting only a couple of seconds, while others can last a couple of minutes. the sort of seizure an individual has depends on where the seizure occurs within the brain and the way much of the brain is involved.
