Endophthalmitis
Endophthalmitis is an infection of the tissues or fluids within the eyeball. it's an urgent medical emergency. If you have symptoms, see an oculist as soon as possible. Endophthalmitis will blind you if it’s not treated quickly.
There are 2 main kinds of endophthalmitis:
Exogenous Endophthalmitis. this can be the foremost common variety of endophthalmitis. With this kind, the source of the infection comes from outside the body. Bacteria or fungi gets within the eye from surgery, an injection into the eyeball or an eye injury. Puncture wounds to the eye are the foremost likely reason for endophthalmitis.
Symptoms sometimes begin among only some days of an eye procedure or injury. once symptoms begin quickly like this, it's acute endophthalmitis
