Cervical Dislocation Open Access Journals
Cervical dislocation is a general method of animal euthanasia. It specifies a technique is used in the physical euthanasia of small animals along the pressure is applied through the neck and dislocates the spinal column from the skull or brain. The aim is to quickly detached the spinal cord from the brain., therefore as to provide the animal with a fast and painless death; In spite of research on this method has shown it does not constantly concuss the brain and may not cause instantaneous insensibility. Firm pressure is applied at the base of the skull, also a sharp pinching and twisting of the thumb and forefinger.
