Animal Microbiology Journals
Veterinary microbiology is concerned with various bacterial, fungal and viral diseases of domesticated vertebrate animals (livestock, companion animals, fur-bearing animals, game, poultry, but excluding fish) especially that supply food, other useful products or companionship. Studies of antimicrobial resistance are also included in the various studies of animal microbiology. Veterinary microbiologists are physicians specialized in the study of microorganisms that cause infectious disease in animal species. They are often involved with the development of vaccines, drugs, and other animal health products. Veterinary microbiologists are responsible for studying a variety of disease-causing microorganisms including viruses, bacteria, and parasites. The Journal of Animal Microbiology accepts research papers of high quality and innovation on aspects of host response, pathogenesis, molecular biology, prevention, and treatment of microbial diseases of animals. Papers dealing largely with immunology, epidemiology, molecular biology and antiviral or microbial agents will only be considered if they demonstrate a clear impact on a disease.
