Biography:

Hans van Oers studied Statistics and Epidemiology. He worked from 1986-1998 as an epidemiologist at the Community Health Service Rotterdam. From 1998 on, he works at the National Institute of Public Health and the Environment (RIVM), currently as Chief Science Officer. Since 2004 he is also appointed as professor in Public Health at Tranzo, Tilburg University. The central theme in his work is to strengthen the bridge between policy, practice and research in public health.
