Abstract:
Thromboembolic Event (TE) is associated with considerable mortality rate in childhood cancer. The multifactorial causes of thrombosis in childhood cancer include chemotherapy, surgery, central venous catheter-related thrombosis, genetic predisposition (thrombophilia), and disease related factors. This review aims to examine current knowledge regarding the incidence, risk factors, presentation, evaluation, prevention, and management of TE in childhood cancer. The purpose of this study is to consider the current information about TE in children with cancer.
Biography:
Nader Shakibazad has completed his MD at the age of 26 years from Shiraz University of Medical Sciences, Shiraz, Iran and Pediatrician degree from Shiraz University of Medical Sciences, Shiraz, Iran. He is the fellowship in pediatric hematology and oncology. He has published more than 14 papers in reputed journals.
