Management with Boston Sight Scleral Contact Lenses for Anterior Lenticonus in a case of Alport Syndrome

Abstract:
26 years old female presented with chief complaint blurring of vision and glare problem at night time. Known case of Alport’s syndrome is an autosomal recessive disorder with chronic progressive haemorrhagic nephropathy and deafness. Best corrected visual acuity 20/120 in right eye with -2.00spherical /-2.50cyl @15® and 20/80 in left eye with -3.50 spherical/- 1.00cyl @ 165® and Scissor reflex present during retinoscopy. Ocular examinations: Slit lamp examination for anterior segment assessment, IOL master 700 to measured axial length, Pentacam for corneal topography, anterior segment OCT for anterior chamber depth and lenticonus assessment, Aberrometry for ocular aberrations assessment and Photoslit for documentation performed. Visual acuity improved up to 20/40 in Right and 20/25 in Left eye with Boston sight scleral contact lens. Conclusion: Significant visual acuity and quality of vision improved with Boston sight scleral contact lens.
