Abstract:

The word Diabetes always comes in mind with associated complications in which diabetic foot is one of them. It's a condition of calluses or corns or ulcerations in foot of individual affected with diabetes. The risk factors of diabetic foot are peripheral neuropathic and angiopathy, that always comes with poor negligence and improper foot care. Pakistan is a country where 26.7% adults are affected with diabetes in which diabetic foot is commonest complication. Objectives: To understand the practices of Pakistani patients towards diabetic foot care. Methodology: A Qualitative study based on semi-structured interviews was done. A total of 25 interviews were conducted with diabetic patients affected by foot ulcers, calluses, and fungal infections. The interviews were recorded in Urdu and translated into English. The average time of the interview was 5min. After the interview, proper counseling of the patient regarding foot care was done. This study was conducted in the Medicine Department of Madina Teaching Hospital and in PAF Hospital from November 2022 to February 2022 Results: The research is continued till February and results will be shared at Conference
