Ayurvedic management of pregnant woman infected with SARS-CoV-2 â?? A case report

Abstract:
Introduction: Global spread of the severe acute respiratory syndrome Corona virus 2 (SARSCov-2) was witnessed and it is the most threatening health crisis of our life time. In the scenario pregnant woman represent a frail category of patients, they are systematically excluded from trials and thus a candidate of focused evidence based care. Diagnosis and Outcome: In this paper, a case of Ayurvedic management of second trimester pregnant woman having diagnosed with COVID-19 is reported. The serologically confirmed COVID 19 pregnant woman was symptomatic and managed with Ayurvedic interventions. The patient became asymptomatic on 5th day of treatment and then on the 7th day of treatment, nasopharyngeal swab was taken for RTPCR, which was negative. Conclusion: The findings of this case report are useful for understanding the possible clinical pathology of COVID-19 infection in pregnant women and the holistic care protocol for the management.
