Abstract:
This presentation highlights the specific challenges that Limb Salvage teams face at Safety Net Hospitals including limited access to care, nutritional deficits, and barriers to support services. The learning goals & objectives for this session include: • Explore the necessary components for a multidisciplinary care team • Review the socioeconomic challenges that safety net hospitals face • Provide strategies for improving outcomes and overall quality of care The anticipated time for this session is between 30-40 minutes and case studies will be included Recent Publications 1. Biography:
Christine Miller is Chair of the American College of Clinical Wound Specialists, Medical Director of the Orthopaedic Ambulatory Care Center (ACC) and Co-Director of the Limb Salvage Program at the University of Florida, College of Medicine-Jacksonville. Dr. Christine Miller also serves as the Clinical Trial & Patient Safety Liaison for the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery
