Biography:
Dominic Papineau is an associate professor at the University College London. He uses Raman spectroscopy and correlated microscopy to investigate problems in Precambrian geobiology, Earth system evolution, evolutionary biology, and exobiology. Current projects include the Proterozoic phosphorous cycle, biosignatures in sedimentary rocks, chemical diagenesis, the causes and consequences of the rise of atmospheric oxygen, and the origin of banded iron formations and stromatolites.
