Biography:
Professor, Department of Medicine, Division of Nephrology, and Senior Associate Dean (Clinical Research) at the Cumming School of Medicine, University of Calgary.Marcello Tonelli is a nephrologist and researcher at the University of Calgary. His research program links clinicians, researchers and decision-makers to identify and close quality gaps in the care of people with non-communicable chronic diseases. He is a member of the Governing Council at the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) and the chair of the CIHR Standing Committee on Ethics. He is the Director of the WHO Collaborating Centre on Prevention and Control of Chronic Kidney Disease.
