The procedure involves placing a small metal mesh tube, called a stent, in the narrowed or blocked artery to improve blood flow to the heart. Here are some tips to promote a smooth recovery after coronary stenting: It is essential to follow your doctor's instructions regarding medications, physical activity, and dietary restrictions. Your doctor may recommend medications to prevent blood clots or lower cholesterol levels, as well as dietary changes to promote heart health.
Rest and relaxation are essential for a smooth recovery after coronary stenting. Avoid strenuous physical activity, lifting heavy objects, or any activity that may strain your chest area for at least a week after the procedure. Drinking plenty of fluids can help flush out the contrast dye used during the procedure and prevent dehydration.
