Liver toxicity induced by an isoniazid prophylaxis therapy in an hiv infected single women in namakkal: a case reports
Chemoprophylaxis will be initiated among HIV patients to prevent co-infection with tuberculosis. Many studies reveal that Anti-Retroviral Therapy (ART) will itself causes its side effects and toxicity. In immune-compromised individuals, there are chances of decreased metabolic and cellular functions. When an Isoniazid Prophylaxis Therapy (IPT) is introduced along with ART in HIV patients some individuals are found to have Drug-Induced Liver Injury (DILI). we report a case of liver toxicity induced by IPT in an ART undergoing HIV patient.
