The Allied Academies Fall 2009
Internet Division

The Allied Academies Internet Division associated with the Fall International Conference in Las Vegas will be live October 14-30, 2009 (though there is not a set schedule for participation).  Below you will find links to the online Proceedings, Program, and Power Point presentations.  The online Proceedings and Program are in PDF format requiring Acrobat Reader to view. We will also be mailing Internet Division registrants hard copies of these materials.

The Message Board System is for posting comments regarding your own paper or others, and there is also a chat room available.  We strongly encourage participants to interact, ask questions, and provide feedback to one another. If you have any questions, please contact Trey Carland (who may be without Internet access during the week of the conference).

Above you will find links to the Conference Proceedings which contains all of the proceedings versions and abstracts submitted to the conference (in PDF format).  Please read through the table of contents or use the find option to search for your paper.  While you are there, please feel free to read through the other papers submitted.  Please contact the author if there are particular papers you would like to read in full.  In a lot of cases there will only be and abstract in the Proceedings.

There is also a link to the Conference Message Board and Chat Room.  This is basically a forum and chat room where participants can post comments regarding different papers and interact live with other participants.  We recommend that those of you interested in chatting live do so during the days of the conference from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. (Eastern Standard Time).  Though direct email is always an option (and may be a good way to organize a live chat), we encourage participants to use this public discussion medium in case other participants have any insights to offer on a given subject.  This too is where you can submit your feedback regarding other papers you have read in the proceedings.

You will also find a link to the Conference Program.  All of the papers appearing on Saturday are in the Internet Division.  It might be a good starting point before you dive into the Conference Proceedings.  As far as timing goes, as you can see there is basically a two week window for participation.  This should allow you all ample opportunity to read through all of the papers that interest you and carry on conversations regarding topics of interest, without impending on your personal time.

The Conference Program has in the back of it a list of all of those papers selected as Research Award Winners for the Conference.  We had a lot of high quality papers submitted for consideration this time, which means the competition was steep.  The submissions were ranked and the top 25% selected, which means there are quite a few of you with solid papers that were not selected.  For those of you who did win, you will receive an official letter containing the steps necessary to submit your final version for publication.

For those of you who were not selected to receive awards, we strongly encourage you to follow up after the conference with a Direct Journal Submission.  There is more information about this on the Submission Instructions page.

If you have any other questions regarding participation or any other details, please don’t hesitate to drop me an email.  I may be without email access for the week of the conference, but will try to catch up upon my return.  We look forward to your participation.
Thank you,
